This joint doctoral program is operated as collaboration between the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and the South Dakota State University. The joint steering committee consists of the graduate deans from both universities, the two program coordinators from each campus, two faculty members from School of Mines and two faculty members from SDSU, and the executive director of the BOR or his/her designee. The campus program coordination committee includes a chair appointed by the dean of graduate education and representatives from the departments of atmospheric sciences, civil and environmental engineering, geology and geological engineering, chemistry and chemical engineering.
