The university cabinet, consisting of the university president, the provost and vice president for academic affairs, the vice president for business and administration, the vice president for student affairs/dean of students, the vice president for university relations, the vice president for research, the president of the School of Mines Foundation, the director of the School of Mines alumni association, the dean of graduate education, the chair of the faculty, the director of facilities, the chair of the career service council, the chair of the exempt employees, the president of the student association, and the executive assistant to the president shall meet at the call of the president and advise the president concerning the development of policy, the governance of the university, strategic planning, and the fiscal operation of the university.
